Why not just keep using Excel or Google Sheets?

Spreadsheets are great until several people edit at once, a formula breaks silently, and one wrong cell costs real money. A custom system gives you a database with input validation, roles so nobody overwrites another person's work, a change history, and an interface built for the task. You keep the flexibility you liked and lose the chaos. Migrating your existing data is part of the work.

How much does it cost to replace our spreadsheets with custom software?

Can you move our existing spreadsheet data into the new system?

Yes. Importing your current spreadsheets is a standard part of the build. I map each tab and column to the new database, clean up inconsistencies, and load your live data so you start with a full system rather than an empty shell. If you still need to export back to Excel afterwards, that stays available too.

What if we only outgrew one spreadsheet, not everything?

Then you probably don't need a full system yet. A single-purpose tool, a calculator or an automation around that one workflow is cheaper and faster, and it can grow into a larger system later. I'll tell you honestly which case yours is before quoting, so you don't overbuy something you don't need.

Who builds and maintains it — an agency or one person?

One engineer end to end: me. Discovery, database, interface, admin, deployment and support all sit with the person who understands the whole system, so nothing gets lost in handoffs. That keeps the cost below agency rates and keeps decisions fast. After launch, an optional monthly support plan keeps it updated and monitored.
